Synopsis

Valeria is 17 and pregnant. She lives in Puerto Vallarta with Clara, her half-sister.
Valeria has not wanted her long-absent mother, April, to find out about her pregnancy, but due to the economic strain and the overwhelming responsibility of having a baby in the house, Clara decides to call their mother.
April arrives, willing to help her daughters, but soon it will be clear why Valeria had kept her away.

Michel Franco

Michel Franco was born in Mexico City in 1979. The films he has written, directed and produced include “Chronic” (nominated for the Palme d’Or and winner of the Best Screenplay award at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival), and “After Lucía” (winner of the Best Film Award at Certain Regard, 2012 Cannes Film Festival). He has produced “600 Miles” (directed by Gabriel Ripstein and winner of the Best First Feature award at the 2015 Berlin Film Festival), and “From Afar” (directed by Lorenzo Vigas winner of the Leone d’Oro at the 2015 Venice Film Festival). His most recent work “April ́s Daughter”, is part of the Official Selection of Cannes International Film Festival, 2017. Through his company Lucía Films, he is also developing several feature film and televisión projects.
